Butch Thompson's collaboration with Laura Sewell erases the line between formal and informal. This duo's repertoire includes music of Duke Ellington, Scott Joplin, Bessie Smith, J.S. Bach, Giuseppe Verdi, and originals by Butch himself (see "What a Friend" on this page). Butch's unique arrangements are the framework, and the duo may be expanded to a trio, quartet, or larger ensemble.
