Pianist Butch Thompson and conductor David Reffkin present the St. Paul Ragtime Orchestra—an ensemble of top Minnesota players: Troy Gardner, violin; Jennifer Strom, viola; Laura Sewell, cello; Gordy Johnson, bass; Marlene Pauley, clarinet; Dave Jensen, trumpet; Dave Graf, trombone; and Peter Johnson, drums.

David Reffkin, leader of the American Ragtime Ensemble, was a member of Gunther Schuller’s New England Conservatory Ragtime Ensemble, whose recordings, along with the film "The Sting," were at the heart of the Scott Joplin revival of the early 1970s. Repertoire is drawn from Reffkin’s collection of rare vintage arrangements.
